Boostlingo

Bootstrapped, then growth equity
👤 Bryan Forrester (Sold an IT-services firm before this, then aimed his enterprise-sales chops at a vertical no one was building software for.)🌐 siteLinkedIn

Bootstrapped language-access SaaS to four straight Inc 5000 years, then took growth equity to acquire rivals.

Will it work? · our read
Unsexy compounds. A fragmented, low-status niche — hospital and court interpreting — finally got real software. Four Inc 5000 years prove the growth; the open question is whether the exit lands.

Boostlingo has never published an absolute revenue figure, so the headline is its own self-reported Inc 5000 growth (No. 312, 1,800% three-year growth, 2022), first-party on boostlingo.com and corroborated by first-party 2023 ARR growth of 60% and four consecutive Inc 5000 years (2022-2025). Latka estimates 2024 revenue near $37M, but that is EST, not company-confirmed, and Latka's funding data for Boostlingo is wrong ($3.4M 2018 Series A vs the real Mainsail growth-equity round in 2021), so treat its figure loosely. Founded 2016, bootstrapped on angel money, then took minority growth equity from Mainsail in 2021 and made several acquisitions (VoiceBoxer, Interpreter Intelligence) — 'bootstrapped' describes its origin, not its current cap table. Interpreter count varies by source (homepage 10K, podcast 17K); the card uses the conservative homepage figure. Growth and award numbers verified first-party; absolute revenue unverified. We never score you.
