Chairish
👤 Gregg & Anna Brockway (Gregg had already built and sold Hotwire and TripIt; he knew marketplace liquidity cold. Anna ran Levi's global marketing.)🌐 site𝕏LinkedIn
Two travel-startup vets brought Hotwire and TripIt's liquidity and shipping skills to a market too heavy for eBay.
Will it work? · our read
Founder-market fit. Founders who'd solved liquidity and logistics at Hotwire and TripIt did it again for furniture. But big-ticket resale barely breaks even, so the $85M sale was the real payoff.

Revenue is graded STATED, not FILED: $51.2M for the year ended 31 Dec 2024 is printed in ATG plc's press-release acquisition announcement (4 Aug 2025), which I opened and verified — this is the company talking in a press release, not an audited or regulatory filing, even though ATG is LSE-listed. ATG states the figure is unaudited and describes it as commission, seller subscriptions, marketing fees and shipping revenue. ATG's separate full-year-results RNS filing (investegate.co.uk) is listed in sources but was not the page this $51.2M figure was pulled from, so it does not earn a FILED grade here. The $85M price, 12,000 sellers, 1.3M items and 4.1M accounts are from the same press release. 2024 adjusted EBITDA was $(0.4)M (about breakeven). GMV for Chairish alone is not disclosed on any page I could open, so it is not headlined — the $51.2M is revenue Chairish kept, not buyer spend. Seller-commission percentages (Consignor 40% / Professional 30% / auction 20%) live on Chairish's help center, which sat behind a Cloudflare challenge I could not open, so I did not put a take-rate on the card as a checked figure and described the fee model from the STATED revenue-component wording instead. Founder X and LinkedIn confirmed via search listings; verified against the company's own acquisition-announcement disclosure. We never score you.
