Scrapingdog

Scraping APIs are a commodity. Scrapingdog won on distribution, not tech: own the search results devs Google mid-code.
Will it work? · our read
Distribution wins. The product is a commodity anyone can clone. What compounds is a library of SEO content that captures developers at the moment they search for a scraper. Boring, and hard to copy.

Dev needs web data; scraping means proxies, captchas, headless browsers

revenue.value ($2M ARR) is STATED: self-reported on Scrapingdog's own about-page milestone timeline, which reads '$ 2 Million ARR' for December 2025 ('we doubled our revenue from August', when it hit $1M ARR). Not audited. Confirmed in the raw HTML, not just a WebFetch summary. A 2021-era Starter Story interview listed about $22K/mo; the newer, larger figure is the company's own and current. Checked period/subject/currency: this is Scrapingdog's ARR (recurring subscriptions in USD), not sibling products Makcorps/FlightAPI. Bootstrapped: no VC funding disclosed. The $36K 2017 railway-API story on the about page is Darshan Khandelwal's (CTO co-founder) own first-person bio, not Manthan's, per direct fetch of scrapingdog.com/about/ (confirmed twice) plus a 2021 Starter Story interview naming yet a third figure ($50K, a colleague called Manish) for a similar tale, so it is not used to describe Manthan. Manthan's own founding detail (SEO over ads, per Starter Story) is used instead. verified:true on first-party disclosure. Founder's X/LinkedIn returned 402/blocked to our fetcher but map to Manthan Koolwal by name via search; the $1M ARR LinkedIn post is corroborating, not the headline source. We never score you.
