Bootstrapped doc automation · $100M exit (2019)
👤 Jeremy Clarke (He worked at Formstack, saw forms had no document output, and built the one missing piece — then sold it back to them.)🌐 siteLinkedIn

The most buyable asset is a boring, high-margin utility that plugs into bigger platforms and runs on almost nobody.

Will it work? · our read
Buyable by design. A one-person, high-margin utility wired into bigger platforms is the cleanest thing to sell: low risk, low support, and a buyer who already needs what it does.

The $5M+ ARR and $100M price are Jeremy Clarke's own figures, stated on the Practical Founders podcast (episode #8) — first-party but not audited; the deal was private, so no filing carries these numbers (sourced=STATED). The $30M up-front / $70M later split and the one-employee claim are the founder's account on that same page. Formstack's April 16, 2019 press release independently confirms the acquisition and 'more than 3,000 customers in 80 countries.' Margins (about 95%) are inferred from a one-person, pure-software operation, not a disclosed accounting figure. We never score you.
